Set in a beautifully restored hotel built in 1854, this cafe ticks a lot of the boxes. Great seating outside overlooking Falls Park where the kids can run around while you eat and drink and you'll be greeted and seated by a maitre d'. The menu has great variety and the coffee is very good.

On behalf of our family and friends, thank you for making Mum's 70th a special occasion. I chose The Falls because its my preferred place to come to for something a little special. The food was delicious, as usual. Family members were also in agreement with their food choices and impressed with our waitress, Alex's attentiveness and especially delighted with the room we were hosted in.

We just wanted to thank you and your staff for ensuring that our wedding on Saturday February 12 2011 was a great success.
After looking at other venues, it was only by chance that I called into your restaurant after someone said that you were now catering for weddings. It was the best decision we made concerning our wedding.
We really appreciated all the effort that you and your staff gave to us not only at the planning stage, but also on the day. After our ceremony in the rotunda and moving into the reception seeing the set up was just amazing and all our guests commented on how wonderful it all looked.
We cannot speak highly enough of you and your staff. Everyone at the wedding commented on the food and the service on the night, all of which helped to make the night a total success.
Did we get value for our money? You better believe we did. We both will highly recommend The Falls Restaurant to anyone as a great place to hold any type of small function.

Normally an evening of work for me, I hear about this event a few days before, I share this information to friends and colleagues via email…
What can I say about the $58 three course meal; What can I say about Peter Vaughan; What can I say about Team THE FALLS; What can I say about the value… it simply has been years since there was this caliber of fine dining and engaging entertainment in Auckland let alone Waitakere
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS highly recommended…more than meets the eye profile

Best of the West - Dining at The Falls ( @THEFALLSNZ )
I’m not a “foodie” but, inspired by Flickr friend Sandy’s food photographs & comments, decided to snap and blog about some of the great food,events & venues I encounter.The first is:
The Falls Restaurant - Café - Gallery
Mention fine dining and I suspect many Aucklanders would not immediately think of Henderson unless they have visited “The Falls”. As a kid I remember this former Hotel as a run down, virtually abandoned, building behind Henderson’s Railside Avenue shops. About a decade ago it was relocated & restored to become a landmark restaurant & café.
Now it operates, literally, from dawn till late in a number of guises. In the morning you can get anything from a coffee to go to full breakfast. It transitions into a quality casual Café for brunch/lunch, later a great place stop for afternoon tea or after work drinks. As the sun sets the pace changes to offer dining of the highest standard. I’d say “Fine Dining” but that term is often associated with a stuffy sterile atmosphere & service that you won’t find at The Falls. The food is fine, created & served with obvious care by a team who do it with a friendly Westie smile. The Gallery aspect refers to the quality local art featured in the dining areas which changes regularly.

On Friday 30th October, our party of 4 dined for lunch at the Falls with a 1pm booking.
Our meal was superb, thank you, but it was the pudding of white chocolate sago pudding that was quite simply the best I have had, even compared to overseas European restaurants.
I asked our waiter? if we could have the recipe and he replied that if I were to email the chef it could be emailed to me. However, I have mislaid the business card that he handed me so I am hopeful that someone can arrange to email me that wonderful recipe.
Thanks again for a wonderful lunch, we will be back, the Falls is a \'must dine\' for me.

I am writing to give you feedback about a recent vist to your restaurant. I came for
lunch with my two children on Monday the eighth of June.
I am pleased to tell you that the experience was very satisfactory. I am a retired
restaurateur myself and have keen perception and high standards when I dine out.
The team of servers, a tall young man and a young blond woman seemed to be
effortlessly coordinated and all of our requests were at once understood and catered to
(this is not always the case when dining with young children)
The children's menu and portion sizes were right on and my kids not only had a
healthy lunch but they felt cared for and that compelled them to behave nicely.
The menu was a tough document to have to choose from, everything sounded good
and the unusual flair was refreshing to see.
I eventually chose the seafood chowder and the Bang bang salad for myself.
I'm still reveling in the recollection of the chowder, it was chocked full of well cooked
shellfish and tender root vegetables, the ravioli with the fresh oyster was a nice point
of interest, too. The soup base was rich but not devastating to the appetite.
It's a good thing too, because the salad that followed was just as good.
The portion size (moderate) and the colorful presentation caught my eye as the
first impression. The tastes and textures of the mango, capsicum, greens and
light dressing made it a winning compliment to my warm soft first course.
I rarely write restaurants, but I couldn't let such a well crafted meal with such
warm and professional service go by without giving some kudos.
Ill be back with my husband to enjoy more of your culinary and hospitality offerings.

I wish to thank The Falls for a wonderful meal. Both my daughter and I celebrated our graduations from our university study. The salmon was superb, particularly the strawberry and balsamic vinegar. But, what really made our meal memorable was the "service with a smile". You come highly recommended.

My favorite restaurant is The Falls - Alderman Drive, Henderson
I have been visiting The Falls Restaurant for six months now.
I find the staff always willing to accommodate my requests even when my requests are very demanding and may be ill timed.
I try a different choice from their main menu each time and always come to the conclusion that I like what they serve. When I have time restrictions, I have had the opportunity to take a desert packed for me to eat later.
I find that turning up with a large group of friends, always welcomed and accommodated for.
I believe they go the extra mile to help their customers

A quick note to praise the standard of food and service at your restaurant when we visited there on last Friday night 7th April.The staff were friendly and very efficient during the course of the evening and the food deserving of the fine reputation of your kitchen staff.
It was a birthday dinner and the waitress even brought out an unexpected little extra complete with candle and chocolate 'happy birthday' writing which certainly caped off an excellent evening and was greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to give you some feed back about our Birthday Celebration on Saturday night
We thoroughly enjoyed out time at The Falls from the minute we arrived. Felix was outstanding in the way he waited on us for food & drinks and made everyone feel very comfortable and relaxed. The food was wonderful - fresh and perfectly prepared and presented - enjoyed by everyone from 6 years old to 78!!. Each course was served promptly but not rushed.
Thank-you for taking the time to wish Bridie a happy birthday and also to take the photos on all the cameras! - it was really appreciated

Thanks for an enjoyable evening on Friday night.
Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed our Christmas Function at The Falls & lots of people raved about the food.
It was absolutely delicious. Also had good comments about the service - how your staff were always on hand to take drink orders etc but did it unobtrusively. It was the first time that I'd been there, but I'll definitely be coming back.
