Robin Mansfield
Robin served an apprenticeship as a traditional hands on signwriter with Peek Signs (in the days when hand skills were the premium)
Several years after completing his apprenticeship he became co-owner of Osmand Signs a long established Auckland sign firm.
Osmand Signs was known for the quality of the artwork they produced, particularily the large airbrush illustrated banners at Aotea Square advertising productions for the New Zealand Ballet and New Zealand Opera Company also visiting shows like ‘The Mikado’, ‘On the Town’ and ‘The Rocky Horror Show’.
This work proved a grounding for his interest in painting and lessons from local artist Don Nathan and then Nancy Titchbourne well known watercolourist encouraged him to produce work in watercolour and acrylic.
Robin became a member of Titirangi Painters, and is currently President.
He exhibits at The Falls Restaurant, Henderson and West Coast Gallery, Piha, Blockhouse Bay Library
Now painting mainly in acrylic his subjects are landscapes, flowers and birds in realistic and contemporary styles
